1. Introduction

Piyali Sarkar

M. Sc. Zoology

2. Research interest

My research interest are in the fields of Cancer genomics, Immunology and in infectious disease.

3. Current Project

Currently I am working in Tata Medical Center, under Dr. Mayur Parihar’s DBT project, entitled ” “Tumor Genome Profiling and Minimal Residual Disease estimation in acute hematological malignancies using single platform next generation sequencing platforms”.(From September 2018 to till date).

4. Previous working experience

I have worked in National Institute of Bio-Medical Genomics(NIBMG, Kalyani) as Project Research Fellow in Chronic Pancreatitis and Pancreatic Cancer, where I used to collect the samples (normal, pancreatitis,PDAC) of patient’s blood and tissue, then we extracted total RNA from the tissue samples and checked the deferentially expressed genes in both of the diseases by Microarray. Then after getting the result we compare our data with other miRNA-Cancer databases for understanding the underlying biology or the biological implication of that gene in both the diseases.I have worked in NIBMG,Kalyani(under Dept. of Biotechnology, Govt. of India) for three(2015-2018) years.
